Collection Management Policy (summary)

The Chantry Library, located next to the Oxford Conservation Consortium studio, is dedicated to providing dynamic and responsive library and information services in support of the OCC conservation team, wider Oxford conservation, the University student community, and readers with an interest in conservation and cultural heritage.

We do this by:

What types of material do we hold?

Main subject areas:

Art History · Archaeology · Book Binding · Book History · Buildings and Architecture · Ceramics and Glass · Collection care · Conservation (general; book; paper) · Documentation & Description · Ethics and Social Value · Frames · Furniture · Health & Safety · Materials and Techniques · Paper History, Manufacture and Science · Printing · Reprographics · General Science · Skin · Textiles

Collection management:

Our main aim is not to provide complete coverage of the subject area, as this is not practical for reasons relating to space and budget. The focus is to acquire materials that the majority of reference libraries may not have, for example, specialist monographs, foreign language publications, and conference papers.
