Chantry Library now hosting Oxford Conservators’ Group Website

Earlier this month the Chantry Library website became the new web hosts for the OCG (Oxford Conservators’ Group). You can now view our content on Chantry’s website and sign up to the mailing list here. If you wish to contact OCG, please continue to use our email oxfordconservatorsgroup@gmail.com

The OCG is an informal group of Oxford-based multi-disciplinary conservators, or those interested in conservation, and covers all specialisms including book and paper, ceramic, glass and objects, ethnographics and paintings. It was founded in 1974, so we are fast approaching our 50th anniversary! Membership of OCG is free and once you sign up via our website you will receive our newsletters with information on local events, talks, tours and socials.

Members are encouraged to send the OCG Committee details of any local events they wish to promote, such as lectures and other events, sales of conservation tools and equipment, new publications, and any developments of interest to the group. We currently have around 100 members and the first in-person event of 2022 included a visit to the Chantry Library to learn more about the invaluable collection of conservation literature held here, peruse the book sale, as well as to meet the Chantry’s new librarian Marjory Szurko. It was a huge success!

This cements a long standing link between the Library and OCG; the Chantry holds the Group’s archive which dates back to its foundation.

For any enquiries please contact the OCG committee at oxfordconservatorsgroup@gmail.com, to keep updated on their latest news and activities you can follow them on Twitter @OxConGroup.
